We have had the privilege of selling calves for the Reeder family for over 20 years at the 5 Star sale (Sept. 24, 2022) and are happy to partner with them as they make the tough decision to transition their farm to crops only. This is a good offering of cow-calf pairs, bred cows, outstanding bred heifers and a nice set of heifer calves. I have always been impressed how Dan has kept the focus to continually improve and the fact that his bred heifers and the heifer calves are of such high quality is a testament to that philosophy. All cattle are up to date on vaccinations, have been pregnancy checked by a vet and have have had their feet trimmed. Please note that load out will be the weekend immediately following the sale as Dan will be preparing club calves for the 5 Star sale the following weekend. We, Dan and Maureen Reeder, started our beef cow herd 35 years ago alongside our dairy and crop operations. As the 4th generation on our family farm, we have vigorously sought to improve the quality of our herd by purchasing the best semen and herd bulls we could afford. Along with seeking advice and counsel from several industry leaders and family, it is with great regret and anticipation that we offer our entire herd of females for sale on September 15, 2022 as we transition to a crop only operation. All cattle have been vaccinated and boosted. We have worked closely with Dr. Lisa Sanford of Sterner Large Animal Clinic to ensure that the health of our cows has been top priority. All of our females have been selected for disposition, structural soundness, and maternal ability. We have had several females remain productive past 15 years of age. While our cows are not pets, every cow gets worked through a chute several times a year and should adjust to your management practices easily.
